S. Lucas and sister company Lucas Fit Out have together completed a major datacentre painting and fit out in Docklands. This is the third datacentre project carried out by the group and reflects a growing area of expertise within Lucas for painting and fitting out clean room environments. This latest £1 million project for Mace Technology is Telehouse West close by Canada Water. It is an additional, 8-storey datacentre building on the site and connects to Telehouse’s own headquarters building at first floor level. The Lucas team sealed walls and ceilings with a special two- part epoxy coating that provides extra dust-suppression and waterproofing for sensitive data storage areas that require a dust-free environment. The fit out team also installed and completed all the toilet areas throughout the building. A bespoke ceiling with hanging metal fins was installed in the corridor linking the building with Telehouse’s own headquarters. The seven month programme was completed on time and to budget.
